Watch the 13th Annual Phantoscope High School Film Festival!

But first, watch Annabelle’s Butterfly Dance, made by the Edison Manufacturing Company and starring Annabelle Moore.

The first known public film screening was held here  in Richmond, Indiana, in 1894.  The projector used was a Phantoscope, invented by Richmond native C. Frances Jenkins. Our festival is named after his device. The film shown was Annabelle’s Butterfly Dance.
